Osirix MD prétend être un poste de travail d'imagerie médicale complet pour tous les services de radiologie. Il est facile à installer et peut être intégré à n'importe quel serveur PACS. Il propose des techniques de post-traitement avancées, notamment le rendu MPR, MIP, volume et surface. Il permet également une reconstruction incurvée, qui peut aider à tracer des vaisseaux tels que l'aorte ou les bronches. Il prend en charge la visualisation d'images 2D et offre également une prise en charge des images 4D telles que les acquisitions cardiaques

Osirix a obtenu l'approbation de la FDA pour l'imagerie diagnostique en médecine. Il possède également un label CE et est considéré comme un produit de classe IIa. Une version d'essai, Osirix lite, est disponible gratuitement. Cependant, il s'agit d'une version de démonstration, et toutes les images sont générées avec un filigrane. Il n'est pas homologué et n'est donc pas destiné à un usage médical.

Horos est un logiciel open source sous licence conçu par des radiologues au Royaume-Uni. Il est continuellement amélioré et mis à jour. Contrairement à Osirix lite, il offre de nombreuses fonctionnalités avancées, notamment MPR, MIP 3D, rendu de volume 3D, fusion d'images et d'autres outils de mesure.
Horos offre une assistance complète aux nouveaux utilisateurs, à la fois gratuite et payante. Ils proposent un didacticiel vidéo en quatre parties, ainsi qu'un guide d'utilisation détaillé. En outre, ils proposent également une assistance rémunérée où vous pouvez travailler en tête-à-tête avec un expert.
Horos propose un stockage d'images basé sur le cloud, à partir duquel des rapports peuvent être générés et partagés. L'abonnement gratuit permet de créer cinq rapports et cinq partages par mois. Cela peut être amélioré moyennant des frais. Les rapports peuvent être personnalisés pour répondre aux besoins de chaque cabinet. Horos propose également un assistant de migration Osirix, si vous souhaitez plutôt passer à cette application, sans perdre vos fonctionnalités et données enregistrées.

Miele LXIV
Miele LXIV est une autre visionneuse DICOM gratuite qui a été conçue exclusivement pour les utilisateurs de Mac. Il permet l'intégration avec tous les serveurs PACS. Il peut également importer facilement des fichiers DICOM à partir d'un lecteur de CD. Comme Horos, il offre des fonctionnalités avancées, notamment la MPR, le MIP, le rendu de volume 3D, la fusion d'images et l'imagerie 4D des scanners cardiaques. Il génère des modèles 3D interactifs qui permettent une meilleure orientation anatomique et une meilleure planification du traitement. Les images peuvent également être exportées vers d'autres applications Mac. Cette application est disponible en sept langues différentes, elle peut donc être utilisée par des professionnels du monde entier. Le logiciel est entièrement gratuit pour une utilisation non commerciale.

Visionneuse DICOM mRay
Il s'agit d'un logiciel DICOM gratuit pour Mac, conçu par une société allemande et compatible avec le système d'exploitation Mac. L'application a en fait été principalement conçue pour fonctionner sur les appareils mobiles, y compris l'iPad et l'iPhone. Une seule application sur l'appareil mobile aide les médecins à se connecter au PACS et à visualiser les images médicales des patients. Cependant, les fabricants ont averti que la visualisation d'images médicales sur des appareils mobiles doit être uniquement à des fins d'information, et qu'à des fins de diagnostic, une station de travail DICOM standard doit être utilisée. Cette visionneuse propose MPR, mais n'offre pas beaucoup d'autres fonctionnalités avancées. mRay ne peut être intégré au PACS que via un serveur mRay. Bien que la visionneuse soit gratuite, le serveur mRay n'est gratuit que pendant une période d'essai limitée, après quoi le paiement est requis.

3Dimviewer est un logiciel DICOM gratuit compatible avec de nombreux systèmes d'exploitation, y compris Mac. Il s'agit d'un logiciel sous licence libre originaire de la République tchèque. Ce logiciel DICOM avancé possède des fonctionnalités telles que MPR, MIP et la fusion d'images. Il ne permet pas d'exporter vers des formats d'image plus simples. Il est léger et possède une interface très facile à utiliser. Donc, si vous venez de vous familiariser avec les applications DICOM, c'est un excellent logiciel à essayer.

Weasis
Weasis est une application puissante récemment publiée qui est compatible avec le système d'exploitation Mac, ainsi que d'autres systèmes tels que Windows et Linux. Il peut être intégré à plusieurs serveurs PACS. Bien qu'il permette la reconstruction 3D, la reconstruction multiplanaire et le MIP, il ne prend pas en charge la fusion d'images. Il permet de mesurer le SUV et a la capacité de créer des rapports structurés. L'une des caractéristiques uniques de Weasis est qu'en plus des images médicales, il est compatible avec les ECG. Cela serait utile aux cliniciens tels que les cardiologues et les médecins généralistes pour avoir une vue d'ensemble de la fonction cardiaque. Il permet d'importer des fichiers dans des formats d'image tels que JPEG et PNG. Weasis prétend offrir une assistance dans plusieurs langues. Le logiciel DICOM est entièrement gratuit pour une utilisation non commerciale.

 OsiriX

Sur mac, pas mal de médecins utilisent osirix qui au départ fut "open" puis est devenu un produit commercial. La 1ere release date de avril 2004. En février 2010, les auteurs initiaux créent la société Pixmeo afin de certifier OsiriX au regard des exigences de la Food and Drug Administration et d'étendre l'offre de support qui se nomme "OsiriX MD". il existe toujours une version gratuite "OsiriX lite" avec bcp de limitations.

Horos

Horos est un programme de visu d'images médicales libre et gratuit, que sur mac.  L'objectif du projet Horos est de développer une visu d'images médicales 64 bits entièrement fonctionnelle pour Mac OS X. Horos est basée sur Osiris et d'autres bibliothèques d'imagerie médicale open source. Horos est disponible sous la licence GNU Lesser General Public License, Version 3 (LGPL-3.0).

Remarque, seul DICOM est un format médical, NiFTI est pour la recherche. Heros hérite du fait que Osirix propose un plugin Nifti to dicom, et n'ouvre pas de manière native du nifti.

When I then connected the drive to my Ubuntu Linux box, I could see that the LM760T had created a large partition of 596GB and a small partition of 47MB. The large partition (the first one on the disk) was formatted as JFS and the small partition was formatted as Ext3. But it's a bit more complicated than that, because the normal Partion ID/Filesystem type of these partions on Linux would be 83. However, the LM760T creates both partitions with a Partition ID of A2. This is an unknown filesystem type for any other systems or tools. I guess this is part of LG's deliberate policy of obfuscation.

So what do you need to do you if you want to record using your LG Smart TV, but still use the disk for something else? Well, unless you're happy with using the JFS partition for whatever you want to do, you will need to repartition the hard drive to make 3 or 4 partititions. The first two (JFS and Ext3) for the LG, and the third, with whatever filesystem you want, for the other stuff. You can't use the second LG partition (the Ext3 one) for anything else, because if you increase the size to anything useful, then your LG will take hours to connect after you plug it in.

So here's a step by step guide to formating your hard drive for use by the LG while still keeping a partition for other stuff.

First you will need a Linux box - I used Ubuntu 12.04. You might be able to do it using a Linux boot CD on a non-Linux PC, without installing Linux first, but I haven't tried this. I also use a Windows PC to fix the partition ID.

Connect your hard drive to the Linux box. You need to make sure the disk doesn't contain any data that you want to keep, as the first step is to delete all existing partitions.

You need a partition manager that supports JFS and Ext3 to set up the partitions. I used KDE Partition Manager plus the optional JFS package. You can install them on Ubuntu using the Software Center. First delete all existing partitions. Don't forget to apply the changes. Next create a primary JFS partition. The size of the partition is the amount of space you want to allow for LG recordings. I used about half the disk.

Next create a primary Ext3 partition. You need to allow about 50MB for this - don't make it any bigger, or else it will take a long time to connect, when you plug the drive into your TV.

You can use the remaining space to create a partition of whatever file system type you choose.

Then disconnect the drive from Linux, and connect it to a Windows PC. You need to use a physical disk editor to fix the partition IDs. I used Hxd - download from mh-nexus and install it in Windows. Incidentally I tried to install it in Linux using Wine, but could not successfully access the disk. Start HxD, and from the Extras menu, choose "Open Disk", clear the "Open as Readonly" check box and select the correct disk under "Physical disks". You will probably need to choose disk 2 if you only have one other hard drive in the system. Make sure you get the right one, or else you might render your system unbootable.

Now look for the two partition IDs, 83, which are located in the first disk sector. On my hard drive these two bytes are located at offset 1C4 and 1D4 (16 bytes apart). Change each of these two bytes to A2, and then close HxD.

Now you're done. Disconnect the hard drive from your PC and connect to the TV. It should say "Connecting USB", and then after a short wait, you are ready to start recording. You can still use partition 3 for whatever you choose on other PCs and devices, but the one drawback is that you will not be able to play any media files on your LG TV that were not recorded by it.

Further thoughts:
It would be even better if the video files recorded by the LG could be openned on a Windows or Linux PC. After you have made a few recordings, there will be some files on partitions 1 and 2. You may need to alter the permissions before you can see the files by connecting the drive to a Linux box and entering a command like this one (for Ubuntu):
sudo chmod -R 777 [volume mount point path]

After making a test recording I found directories 00000001REC, TMP and TS on partion 1, and files LGDB.vol, LGDB.bak, LGLOGDB.vol on Partition 2.
There are some biggish files in directory 00000001REC on Partition 1, which I guess must contain video data, but I have not been able to play these files using any of the main media players. Chances are the data is encrypted, so there's not much hope of decoding it, but any thoughts on how they could be accessed are welcome.

It will work with any USB stick which shows up as local disk (not removable disk) in windows.

How to make a USB flash drive or an SD card to be identified in the system as a common local hard disk. You may ask why it is necessary. The matter is that by default Windows identifies all the flash drives and memory cards as removable drives that can not be split into several partitions with any of the standard Windows tools. And even if the USB flash drive is split into two or more partitions using third-party utilities (say, in Linux), only the first partition is available in Windows. I.e. Windows supports working with multiple partitions only for HDDs identified as local (i.e. non-removable) disks in the system.

Windows recognizes a USB flash drives as removable devices due to the presence of a special bit descriptor RMB (removable media bit) on each of the devices. If the system determines that RMB=1 when polling the connected device using StorageDeviceProperty, it concludes that this device is a removable drive. Thus, to make a system see a USB flash drive as a hard disk, it’s enough to modify this descriptor. You can do this directly (which is quite risky because of the differences in the device-specific hardware implementations, and not always possible), or indirectly, by substituting the response of a USB device using a special driver, which allows to filter the information in the response of the device.

Tutorial How to extract movies from an LG DVR/PVR HDD

1/ Extracting the videos
  • Option 1: Connect the TV HDD on Linux (Live-CD, VM, HDD etc.)
    1. Open the folder "00000001REC".
    2. The videos are the files ending with the suffix "STR". It's you decision to copy all files or just the "STR" files. Depending of the amount of files, it is more worthwhile to copy all. You need root access to copy the files.
  • Option 2: Using Nucleus Kernel JFS on Windows

  1. Open TS Doctor, go to "File" menu and open the "STR" file without change the extension.

3/ Joining the fixed video files

  1. Open the Windows prompt.
  2. Use the "copy" command to join the video files:

4/ Playing the videos

  • Option 1: Use VLC Player (or TotalMedia)
    If you don't uncheck the invalid audio track on TS Doctor: On videos with more than one audio track, Totalmedia detects automatically the correct track, on VLC player the track must be selected manually. Anyway you can select the track order on TS Doctor by changing the AAC track to first position.
  • Option 2: Using other players (Need VLC Player and Haali Media Splitter http://haali.su/mkv/)
  • Generating the audio track
    1. Open VLC Player.
    2. Go to "Media" / "Convert/Save...".
    3. Add the joined/fixed "ts" file(s) created with TS Doctor.
    4. Click on "Convert / Save" button.
    5. Choose the name for the destination file (MP3).
    6. Change the profile to "Audio - MP3".
    7. Click on "Start" button.
  • Joining video and audio track in a mkv file
    1. Open Haali GDS Mux.
    2. Add the joined/fixed ts file(s) created with TS Doctor.
    3. Add the mp3 file created with VLC.
    4. Choose a output mkv file name.
    5. Click on "Start" button.

Embedding PDFs with JavaScript

PDFObject is not a rendering engine. PDFObject just writes an <embed> element to the page, and relies on the browser or browser plugins to render the PDF. If the browser does not support embedded PDFs, PDFObject is not capable of forcing the browser to render the PDF.

If you need to force browsers to display a PDF, we suggest using Mozilla's PDF.js. Note that PDF.js is subject to its own limitations, such as cross-domain security restrictions. PDFObject and PDF.js play well together, there are links to some great PDF.js examples in the Examples section below.

PDFObject does not provide the ability to customize the look and feel of the PDF toolbar. The toolbar is controlled by the browser, and will vary widely from browser to browser (Chrome versus Safari versus Firefox, etc.). Some of these browsers provide the ability to show or hide the toolbar, or a feature such as the search field, via PDF Open Parameters. However, in general the browsers do NOT provide any mechanism for customizing the toolbar. If you really need to customize the toolbar, try forking Mozilla's PDF.js and customizing it to suit your needs.


PDFObject does not validate the existence of the PDF, or that the PDF is actually rendered. The assumption is that you are specifying a valid URL and the network is functioning normally. PDFObject does not check for 404 errors, and JavaScript cannot detect whether the PDF actually renders, unless you are using PDF.js, which is outside the scope of PDFObject.

PDFObject does not magically implement PDF Open Parameters. As mentioned above, these parameters are not widely supported. The PDF rendering engine either supports them or doesn't — PDFObject cannot force the rendering engine to implement these features.

L’OCR, sigles de Optical Character Recognition est une technologie conçue pour analyser la structure de l’image du document et puis diviser le document en caractères, tableaux et images et aussi équations (sur une ligne)... Ensuite, le programme peut reconstituer la mise en page et les éléments en un texte modifiable.

Le convertisseur PDF est également capable de transformer un document PDF en Word, Excel ou d’autres formats éditables. Mais ce genre de logiciel ne permet que de changer le format de fichier sans analyser le contenu du texte ou sans extraire les caractères. Autrement dit, après la conversion de PDF, vous recevez quand même un fichier non modifiable contenant des images.

Ici nous intéressons à la rapidité de traitement lorsque l'on fait une copie d'écran d'un site qui protège le texte (produit du texte visualisable en image, ou comme google books ou les livres/articles en streaming).

I try this soft on MAC 10.12.5 on chrome and others browsers :  it's the fastest.
Some minor pb with OCR when characters are tiny, just expand your window or try increasing your application's font size.
If you want another soft (but also oldies 2013), use PDF OCR X Community Edition (it also uses this Tesseract code) is a simple drag-and-drop utility for Mac OS X and Windows, that converts your PDFs and images into text documents or searchable PDF files. You must save the screenshot to a file (img) and drag-and-drop to it and copy the text. Then Skim Clip is faster and far better.

Evernote

As well as the keyboard entry of typed notes, Evernote supports image capture from cameras on supported devices, and the recording of voice notes. In some situations, text that appears in captured images can be recognized using OCR and annotated. Evernote also supports touch and tablet screens with handwriting recognition. Evernote web-clipping plugins are available for the most popular Internet browsers that allow marked sections of webpages to be captured and clipped to Evernote. If no section of a webpage has been highlighted, Evernote can clip the full page. 
Where suitable hardware is available, Evernote can automatically add geolocation tags to notes.

In 2010, the coding language for the suite was changed from C# for version 3.5 to C++ in version 4.0 to improve performance.
On supported operating systems, Evernote allows users to store and edit notes on their local machine, using a SQLite database in Windows.

The Evernote software can be downloaded and used as "stand-alone" software without using the online portion of an Evernote account (online registration is required for initial setup, however), but it will not be able to upload files to the Evernote server, or use the server to synchronize or share files between different Evernote installations. Evernote does OCR images so they're searchable,  but the text is not extractable from the image.  OneNote is better for that specific use case - the text (or the best approximation of it) is available in a separate window to be copied and pasted elsewhere.  Voice to text is part of Evernote,  though you'd need to use one of the specialist pen inputs if you want to choose specific parts of the text to hear again.

Google Drive includes a little-known free OCR tool that is a powerful, easy to use image to text converter.
Google Drive currently supports OCR for .jpg, .gif, .png, and PDF files up to 2MB in size

To add your documents to Google Drive to get them OCRed, first go in to your Google Drive account. On the My Drive page, click the My Drive button next to the New button on the left side of the page. Select Upload Files.
Use the Upload files option to upload a file to Google Drive. Find the file that you want to convert from PDF or image to text. Click the Open button. 
The document now appears in your Google Drive. Right-click on the document to bring up a drop-down menu.
Click the Open with option and click Google Docs. A sheet icon appears while the file is downloading. Google is now in the process of converting your PDF or image file to text with OCR.

Tesseract 

Tesseract has unicode (UTF-8) support, and can recognize more than 100 languages "out of the box".
Tesseract supports various output formats: plain-text, hocr(html), pdf, tsv, invisible-text-only pdf.
You should note that in many cases, in order to get better OCR results, you'll need to improve the quality of the image you are giving Tesseract.
Tesseract does various image processing operations internally (using the Leptonica library) before doing the actual OCR. It generally does a very good job of this, but there will inevitably be cases where it isn't good enough, which can result in a significant reduction in accuracy.

HUB text/PAO une syntaxe pour différentes cibles input et output (backends, targets ou writers), de manière à obtenir du HTML du LaTeX, page de man: pandoc

Au départ si on a que du texte sans mise en forme, on peut écrire en hexadécimal comme dans ma jeunesse des années 70 (en ASCII ou étendue pour les caractères français par exemple). Il suffisait de connaitre par coeur la table ASCII de 128 correspondances qui est une norme informatique de codage de caractères des années 60. Et tout cela avec un clavier de 0-9 et A-F soit 16 touches (même pas une touche carriage return  car c'est le code #D ni même une touche espace car c'est #20)!

La bureautique est la principale utilisation de l’informatique depuis sa création. Pourtant, les outils majoritairement utilisés dans ce domaine, les logiciels de traitement de texte WYSIWYG comme LibreOffice ou MS word, laissent la majorité des informaticiens et des ergonomes totalement désespérés.
Ces logiciels ont en effet un nombre de défauts très important : ils font se concentrer sur la forme et non sur le fond, leur résultat final ne correspond souvent pas à ce qui est affiché, ils sont incompatibles entre eux, ce sont d’énormes usines à gaz, ils ne fonctionnent qu’en mode graphique, etc.

Il a donc fallu penser à une manière de donner ces instructions de mise en forme au sein du fichier texte lui-même, et c’est ainsi que sont apparus les langages de balisage (markup), dont les plus connus sont HTML (inventé en 1991 par Tim Berners-Lee) et LaTeX (créé en 1985, et basé sur TeX, inventé par le grand Donald Knuth en 1977), et dont la première grande figure fut Roff, un programme Unix historique développé à partir de 1961, et dont la version GNU, Groff, est installée par défaut sur toutes les distributions GNU/Linux, puisqu’on l’utilise encore pour les pages de man des logiciels.

Ces langages représentent une nette amélioration, mais ont tous un gros problème : ils sont gênants ! On ne retrouve plus aussi facilement son contenu au milieu de toutes ces balises supplémentaires, sans parler du fait que les syntaxes complexes ouvrent la voie à de nombreuses erreurs de compilation.

C’est en 1995 que l’on trouva la solution de ce problème, avec la création du premier langage Wiki, dont le but principal était de permettre l’édition facile de pages web par tout un chacun, et dont l’utilisateur actuel le plus célèbre est l’encyclopédie libre Wikipédia. S’il y a presque autant de syntaxes différentes que de logiciels Wiki, elles ont toutes la caractéristique d’utiliser des caractères textuels simples et intuitifs pour donner les indications de formatage du texte.

Mais pourquoi limiter ces langages de balisage léger à la seule génération de HTML ? Pourquoi ne pas utiliser la même syntaxe pour différentes cibles (appelées backends, targets ou writers selon les logiciels), de manière à obtenir aussi bien une page web en HTML, qu’un document en LaTeX pour l’impression, ou qu’une page de man pour un logiciel ? Ce sont les logiciels qui poursuivent ce but qui m’intéressent, ils constituent pour moi l’avenir de la bureautique informatique, et j’ai été amené à les comparer pour en choisir un dans lequel m’investir comme développeur.

Trois d’entre eux, Docutils, Deplate et Pandoc, ont un design évolué, avec une machine à états finis pour laquelle on peut écrire de nouveaux readers et writers de manière parfaitement propre. Cependant, malgré leurs grandes qualités, Deplate est un projet trop confidentiel (ainsi il n’est incompréhensiblement pas présent parmi les pourtant si nombreux paquets Debian), et je ne me sentais pas à la hauteur pour m’investir dans un projet comme Pandoc, totalement écrit en Haskell, qui est un langage de programmation complexe que j’aimerais beaucoup utiliser.
Je détaillerai Pandoc ci-dessous.

Txt2tags

J’ai rajouté dans ce comparatif Markdown et Textile, puisqu’ils ont chacun une implémentation en Python, mais ne générant que du HTML, ils ne m’intéressaient pas vraiment. AsciiDoc et Txt2tags ont un peu la même architecture, avec un gros fichier principal faisant tout le travail, que l’on peut configurer, respectivement avec un fichier .conf et deux dictionnaires Python (un pour les Tags et l’autre pour les Rules), pour créer de nouvelles cibles. AsciiDoc et Txt2tags sont donc plus aisés à prendre en main et à modifier rapidement que Docutils, qui est une très belle et très bien architecturée machine à états objet, mais aussi plus difficile à appréhender.
De plus, comme je désapprouvais totalement la politique de licence domaine publique de Docutils, il ne me restait plus qu’à faire mon choix entre Txt2tags et AsciiDoc. C’est principalement l’orientation très DocBook (un format ne m’intéressant personnellement pas du tout) d’AsciiDoc, et d’autres détails, comme la localisation en de nombreuses langues de Txt2tags et sa plus grande simplicité, qui m’ont finalement fait choisir Txt2tags.

Ce choix est confirmé par une étude plus avancée des différentes syntaxes. Ainsi alors que la syntaxe reST de Docutils ne dispose que de :

Txt2tags est beaucoup plus riche :

Le codage visuel est bien meilleur, et le compréhension instantanée avec la syntaxe de Txt2tags, puisque les slashs donnent l’impression penchée de l’italique, les étoiles imitent la surcharge du gras, les underscores donnent l’impression de soulignement, et les moins apparaissent comme une barre. De plus, l’utilisation généralisée des caractères de balisage en doubles, permet de lever à peu de frais un maximum d’ambiguïtés syntaxiques.

Leur implémentation en Python permet à Txt2tags, reST (par Docutils) et AsciiDoc d’être utilisables à la fois comme logiciels de bureautique multiplateforme (Linux, Mac OS X, Windows et *BSD) et pour le web côté serveur. Depuis 2012, une implémentation de txt2tags en PHP est disponible, développée par Petko Yotov (le mainteneur et principal développeur de PmWiki) et sponsorisée par Eric Forgeot. Grâce aux nombreux efforts de ce dernier, il existe maintenant plusieurs implémentations de la syntaxe Txt2tags en JavaScript, avec une démo parfaitement fonctionnelle des possibilités de rendu côté client en temps réel. Et Matthew Pickering a quant à lui écrit un reader Txt2tags pour Pandoc.
En face, Markdown est représenté par une armada d’implémentations dans tous les langages utilisés sur le web côté serveur, et aussi en JavaScript côté client pour des prévisualisations efficaces sans Ajax, mais seul Pandoc, qui n’est pas si facile à compiler sur toutes les plateformes, propose autre chose qu’un rendu en HTML.
Je vais bien sûr continuer à travailler sur le logiciel Txt2tags, mais une implémentation de la syntaxe Txt2tags dans un parser Docutils, pour toucher directement toute la communauté des développeurs Python qui documentent leurs projets, et pouvoir bénéficier ensuite du sublime Sphinx, est un projet qui me motive de plus en plus.
Enfin, je suis toujours un peu nostalgique devant ce screenshot, parce que c’est en le voyant, avec en haut à gauche le fichier avec les balises, et en bas à droite celui avec le résultat texte brut, que j’ai pris conscience que Txt2tags faisait bien ce que j’espérais, et que comme en plus il était en Python, ce serait probablement le logiciel auquel j’allais contribuer !
